There are three types of data import in SIWin program:
- import from music CDs with information search about tracks in CDDB;
- import from MP3 discs;
- import from the file system.
Import from music CDs
You should specify CD-ROM, where the disc is located. If the music CD is not found or you specify an empty drive, then error message will be displayed. After that, click on the 'Search' button. Note that for getting information about the disc you should be connected to Internet; otherwise you won't get it. After the data about the disc are received, you can view them and choose what suits you more. There cannot be more than one description for a single disc. For adding to the database, select 'Add CD to base'.
Import from MP3 discs
You should specify CD-ROM, where the disc is located. If you specify an empty drive, then error message will be displayed. After that, click on the 'Search' button. The tree of tracks will be built on the disc. If you want folders with songs to be also displayed, tick off the appropriate item ('Use folders'). For adding to the database, select 'Add CD to base'.
Import from the file system
You should specify the folder, from which you want to import data. At the same time you can import only subfolder names with the exception of file names. For that, tick off 'Use only folders'. Otherwise the file names in the selected folder will be also added (besides the subfolder names). For adding to the database, select 'Add data to base'.
Remember, that you cannot add data, if there are no necessary fields in the folder selected by you. If you try to import data to the fields which do not exist, you will get a message about it. Remember well or write down the information about the necessary fields and create them in SICreator.
