Why I cannot copy text from quick view panel

Some time I require to copy some text from my collection database. I just
select it in preview panle and press "Ctrl-INS" (copy to clipboard).
However nothing happens.
Then I need to open item editing panel and can copy text only from there.
Is there any workaround?
