My company has been using FrontPage (currently using FrontPage 2002) for
several years with the built in check-in check-out feature. We have also
been using CVS NT server to control our Java development. We are
increasing the number of people who will update our Websites. So we thought
it would be advantageous to have Source Code Control for the websites. So
your CVS SCC proxy looked like a perfect choice for us. Especially since
http://www.pushok.com/soft_cvs.php specifically mentions FrontPage.
However I can't seem to get all the parts together. I found this webpage
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/sccvs70/html/veurfaddingfrontpagewebapplicationstosourcecontrol.aspwhich describes how to connect SourceSafe to FrontPage 2002. It indicates
that FrontPage needs to be configured to use "external version control
(Visual SourceSafe only)". Well that option doesn't show, the directions of
course indicates what to do to SourceSafe to get that option to show. I
need to know what must be done with CVS SCC proxy for this option to show.
I hope there is a way for this to work as I really don't want to different
source control packages.
