SVNProxy will not check in files with embedded blanks or non-ascii characters

( SVNSCC )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 19 Jun 04 06:00 Updated: 25 Jun 04 06:00
--> Igor Pushkov (admin)  at 25 Jun 04 06:00 writes

Fixed in new version 0.1.040625.
--> Adrian Weiler (user)  at 22 Jun 04 06:00 writes

Additional observation: The files _are_ written to the repository, but the
VS.NET IDE still claims that the files need to be checked in. This also
occurs with a project converted from CVS to SVN, where the files have never
been checked out.
--> Adrian Weiler (user)  at 19 Jun 04 06:00 writes

If a project contains files whose name contains blanks or non-ascii
characters, they will be marked as "pending checkin", and any attempt to
check in these files results in a dialog box saying "Failed to check in one
or more files. Some files remain checked out or not added".

May be this is the same as the problem reported by Tristan Bates on 13 May
04 08:05, but here it happens on the files themselves, not on the module
names.

I provide debuglog.txt for the checkin attempt of a file named
"hölderlin.gif".

By the way: I _can_ rename the file with TortoiseSVN. Which means that
TortoiseSVN can work with working copies created by SVNProxy. Compare with
Tristan Bates message from 13 May 04 09:05. There are two versions of
TortoiseSVN: one "official" version, which I installed and which is
apparently compatible to SVNProxy, and another version, which claims to
work around a problem with VS.NET and web projects (by naming the
administrative directories _svn instead of .svn). May be Tristan installed
this one??

Suggestion: Offer the same choice (name administrative directories ".svn"
or "_svn").
