PushOK and Visual Source Safe

( CVSSCC )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 07 May 04 05:00 Updated: 10 May 04 05:00

Basically you can use several SCC providers (our plug-in for
instance). But even if they all listed in registry most part of IDE
can use only one _active_ provider. Some can use several (PowerBuilder
for instance), but again most part can use only active (all MS IDE,
borland and so on).
Solution for this problem is to use SCC switcher utility, that we ship
with our plug-in. You need to launch it Start/Program/Pushok
Software/CVSSCC/Switch SCC. After that its icon appears in tray
area. You can _right_ click on it and choose the active provider
(change).
Active provider just have some specific mark in registry. This mark
have effect when IDE start. So, to work with projects that controlled
with different SCC systems you should set appropriate provider
_before_ IDE start. After it start you can again switch SCC provider
and next instance of IDE will work with other SCC provider.
This is only one possible way. Hope this help.

I have been a ClearCase user until now, so please pardon me for the
questions that might be obvious to you.

I installed PushOK in order to work with our CVS system. Then I installed
Visual Source Safe, as some of our code is better accessed via VSS. But,
after I installed VSS, I don't seem to be able to access PushOK any more.
All the Source Control links in my visual studio menu now link to VSS.

My questions:

1. Does PushOK co-exist with VSS - i.e. I can switch between them for
source code on different source trees.

2. If the answer to 1 is yes, how do I switch back and forth?

Thanks,
Rulian Fiske
