This is a Subversion issue, so if it will ever be fixed, it will be done by
Subversion developers. If you really want to rename a file only in case,
you can use any external tool (such as native command-line Subversion
client or TortoiseSVN GUI client) and the workaround, suggested in the
TortoiseSVN documentation:

(the following steps should be performed from an external tool)

1. Commit the changes in your working copy.

2. Rename the file from UPPERcase to upperCASE directly in the repository
using the repository browser.

3. Update your working copy.

(the following steps should be performed from VS2005 IDE)

4. Rename the file from IDE. If there will be a warning message, select
"Continue with change".

5. Save your project and commit the changes.

Ok, so basically it doesn't support the Windows methodologies?

Will it ever be fixed?

Unix cases server is case sensitive, that's why this happens.
If you want to change case of file name than you have do that manually,
more specifically:

1. Change the case of file itself
2. Change the case in CVS\Entries and CVS\Entries.extra
3. Change file case on server

Operation is not trivial, so much better do not do that.

You get an error when checking a file in. This happens when you change the
case of a letter(s) in a file outside of Visual Studio (ie. from windows
explorer). That file will then not allow check-ins.
