Problem with directory namesd C++ not a problem with CVS but is a problem with the Proxy tool

( CVSSCC )
Type: Public Status:Rejected Created: 07 Apr 04 04:00 Updated: 16 Apr 04 04:00
--> Igor Pushkov (admin)  at 16 Apr 04 04:00 writes

Look at this:
W:\ctest\mfc\C++>cvs edit stdafx1.cpp
cvs [edit aborted]: current directory (W:\ctest\mfc\C++) contains an
invalid cha
racter (+,>;=\t\n)

As you can see, for some reason cvs reject "cvs edit" command for directory
that containn "+". Also, as you can see it will aslo not accept these
characters(+,>;=\t\n).
The same behavior (as expected) can be repeated on WinCVS or Tortouise,
when you apply "edit" command.

I not know exactly which is the reason. However certain time ago (when
we started to use CVS) we get away from such names, since they cause
problems.
The difference between WinCVS and Pushok, is that WinCVS always work
on "folder" level, very seldom specifying separate folder or file
names in command line. In the same time, IDE, always supply only file
names.
You can help us to check this problem. To do this please download this
debug version of dll:
http://www.pushok.com/files/PushokCVSSCC.zip
Replace exiting one with this, try to repeat problem and send back to
me "debuglog.txt" file that you will find near the dll.

I started to evaluate the tool and I noticed that the tool spit out errors
about the location of some of my source code, specifically the directory
where I place my code contains a + sign, the folder name is C++. CVS does
not have an issue with this but the proxy does as it worked fine (without
the integrated support in .NET Studio 2003) prior to installing the proxy.
