MS Access: share objects

( SVNSCC , MS Access 2007 + Developer Extensions, 1.4.0.x, WIN 2000/XP  )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 23 Oct 07 10:00 Updated: 02 Nov 07 11:00
--> Oleg Akolupin (admin)  at 02 Nov 07 11:00 writes

We looked through this issue and ascertained that realization of such a
data structure in Subversion is impossible. Point is that files stored in
repository in different folders are to be stored in different folders of
working project also, but Access requires all files of the project (except
data) to be in one folder.
If you want you may read a good article about SVN externals.

I can still check out the project using Access + SVNSCC + 'Description from
23 Oct 2007'. Be sure to use http (http://svn.codespaces.com/zilchie/test)

To show you how to put a Access-Project under source control I've attached
App01.adp and App02.adp. Follow the describtion in AccessDevSVNSCC2.rtf.

Put both App01 and App02 under source control. Then try the share-object
command (unfortunately it's deacivated -> issue of this ticket). I'd like
to use object "frmB" in both projects (App01.adp and App02.adp).

Or put App03.adp to c:\delme\App03.adp and open it. this poject is still
under source control (http://svn.codespaces.com/zilchie/test,
user:testuser01, pwd:change) and should connect to the repository on
http//svn.codespaces... when it is opened.

I'm very sorry but I can't check out your aplications from repository.
Please describe how to create and place separate mudules into repository.
I'll try to make it on local "svn://" server

I've set up a little test-scenario. See Attach 1

Yes, we are going to look into this issue. But unfortunately weare not
competent in all peculiarities of MS Access programming, that's why we may
do this with help of interested customers only. Please, send us
test-environment and short description of the task (what eactly and how it
should work).

Hello,

I'm evaluating your SVNSCC plug-in for use with MS Access + "Developer
extensions for Access" (free for Access 2007). Everything works great,
except for the "share objects command"
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA102144351033.aspx

This is alreay subject to a public ticket "Access common components",
created by Peter Martin on 13 Oct. 07. Unfortunately, there is no answer if
and when this function will be supported or how to work around.

We'd like to use your plugin to use MS Access with Subversion. And we need
this function. May you please inform me about your plans about this subject
or update the ticket mentioned above. Thanks a lot.

If you need help to set up a test-enviroment, feel free to contact me.
