Version of proxy is 1.2.040528
OS is Windows XP professional.
I used the following steps to re-create the problem:
Open a workspace/project.
Select a window object in the system tree view. In my case the window
object was "w_victim"
Right click on system tree view of object and select "check out" to
check out object.
Edit object by double clicking on it in the system tree view and make a
change. In my case I added a comment to the object open event.
Save and exit object editor.
Re-open object by double clicking on it again and verify that the change
has been saved.
Exit object again without saving.
Right click on object in system tree view and select "Show History..."
Select the check boxes on the two most recent edits in the history tree
and click the difference button. In my case, the difference was between a
branch and the branch root. The WinMerge program returned that the files
were identical.
Exit the WinMerge differencing program.
Without doing anything else, exit the Show History window.
Open the object again by double clicking on it in the system tree view.
The object will no longer contain any of the changes made to it since
the initial checkout.
Thanks,
Dave
What version of Proxy you use. I checked this, and cannot repeat this
behavior.

Additional information:

To recreate the problem, do the following:

Check out an object for edit.
Make a minor change.
Close the editor saving your changes.
Run Show history on the object.
Select two versions to difference, one of the versions being the most
recent.
Run the difference.
Close the "show history" window.
Re-open the object. The changes made will now be gone.

When a developer has made changes to a checked out object (file) under
PowerBuilder and then uses the "Show history.." option to display file
differences on that object, ALL changes to the checked out file are lost!
