PushOk:
We are a small shop (6 developers and couple of DBAs) running
Powerbuilder8 and Quest SQL Navigator. We would dearly love to use the CVS
SCC proxy for our version control needs. We have been very successful in
our testing with Powerbuilder (cool!) , but we are stuck getting it working
with SQL Navigator.
http://www.quest.com/sql_navigator/.Navigator integrates with the Oracle database to do check-in and check-out
but it can use SCC for actual version control.
Navigator creates the repository on the CVS server just fine when it
exports the database objects to version control.
The problem is that when Navigator goes to check an object (like a package)
OUT of version control, it gives an error about the tag not being legal.
[tag aborted]: tag `SIEMSS1.SMP_MAINTENANCE.PSK' must not contain the
characters `$,.:;@'
SIEMSS1 is the Oracle schema/username
PSK is what extension Navigator's version control is adding to an object of
the type "package".
Is this something we can deal with? What in SCC triggers creating a "tag"
in CVS?
We're not version control experts, but we really like the idea of using CVS
for this as we think it can be leveraged quite widely.
Please let me know if this is something that can be solved or if I can
clarify at all.
If this works, we'll likely purchase licenses for all our developers,
