Please close the ticket. I compared my setting with my co-workers: This

There are two members of my team currently using my currentPushOK version
against the same CVS repository. They did not have the earlier version
installed.

That is the solution, just point to deeper level of module.

I've seen this thread, but didn't see a resolution:

I have a project added through the VS .NET IDE. When I subsequently
attempt to bring down the solution I get the following from the IDE:

The source control server folder you selected contains no Visual Studio
.NET solution or project files. Please select a different server folder.

The solution file does exist in the CVS repository. I am able to bring
down the project which is one level deeper but then, of course, I have to
assign the solution name.
