Changesets

( SVNSCC , 2005, Latest, WIN 2000/XP  )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 18 Apr 06 04:00 Updated: 18 Apr 06 04:00

We trying to arrange the commits (changesets) as large as possible. We
know that this is one of advantages of SVN. However not all depends on
plug-in. IDE asks us to make certain operations with files, and we
should do this without delays. So IDE can decide first add project
files, and then all releated files. We call this commit fragmentation.
Our expirience says that only certain operations produce commit
fragemntation, mostly initiall adding. File modifications usually
commited as single changeset. Also on our experince only about 5-10%
of commits are fragmented.

Hi again,
Sorry, with a bit of further testing, I have just realised that further
to my previous email (below) you seem to be generating changesets
based on whether files have been added or modified.
So in Project1.csproj, I modify class1.cs and add class2.cs and
class3.cs. I end up with two changesets. One contains Project1.csproj
and class1.cs, the other contains class2.cs and class3.cs.
Is this a bug? If not could you please explain the reasoning behind this.
thanks again
Jim

Hi,
my mistake, changesets are working just not as I expected.
If I take a project under source control and add two new files Class1.cs
and Class2.cs, then when I check in I expect the changeset to be made up of
Class1.cs, Class2.cs and the project file (MyProject.csproj). However I
end up with two changesets one with the two class files and one with the
project file.
Is there any way I can change this.
thanks

What version of plug-in have you used ?
(Please write full version.)
It was corrected in 1.3.0.1 version.

Which exact version of plug-in you use?

Hi,

Really like your tool, but does it support SVN changesets.
To be clear, when I check in multiple files at the same time I need all the
files concerned to appear as a changeset within SVN. Is this possible?
Unfortunatly the support of changesets is vital to me. Any help would be
appreciated.

thanks

Jim Swainston
